Average fuel mileage on a 35' with the V10??

We have been looking around for a slightly used Class A with the V10. I have narrowed it down between the Tiffin Allegro 35QBA and the Georgetown 351DS. We also plan on towing a Jeep Wrangler behind it. Just wondering what kind of fuel mileage I can expect with this motor?? Any feedback will be very much appreciated!

Somewhere between 6-8 depending on headwinds, hills and whatever you're towing.

I would sure love to see something over 8 mpg. I've keep records for the last 45,000 miles and it's 6-7 pulling a toad and 7-8 without the toad. That's at 55 mph on 2 lane secondary roads and 60-63 on 4 lane roads.

Not concerned, mostly just curious. I know the V10 is a great motor but I also know they like to drink. :B
I want to take longer trips with the family and a class A seems like it will make the long drives a bit more enjoyable compared to my current setup...

My sold '11 Bounder 36', avg'ed 7.9 over 12k miles but it was a struggle to get that. Pulling a small trailer and 800 Lbs motorcycle. Knew it would get worse pulling a car. It had to downshift every hill.
Bought a DP, 11k lbs heavier and pull a car, now get 9. And I travel faster, and hills? no problem.
A DP will be the move we make later on down the road.. The kids are still young and we only average about 6 trips a year during the summer. I cant see spending the extra $$ on a diesel right now when it will sit most of the time.

On our 1999 v-10, we averaged 8.2 over the 100,000 miles we had it. It was a 37' Pace Arrow and we pulled either a tracker or a 20' enclosed trailer whenever we traveled. I kept the speed on the interstates at 62 mph. That was the sweat spot according to my scan gauge while not impeding traffic too much. If I went faster, the mpg dropped dramatically.

I kept track of it for the first season we had the rig. Averaged 6.5 mpg with our toad and 7.5 mpg without.

I wanted some average numbers for budgeting fuel prices for long trips. I use the 6.5 mpg when I estimate fuel costs and normally it is pretty darn close. I keep it under 65mph on highways and avoid city driving.

If I can get to my destination under budget then I have extra beer money.

That's about 500 miles or a long day of driving on every tank.

There is a separate post on here about rules for motorhomes. If not already mentioned you can almost always assume you will be driving into a head wind, doesn't matter which direction you are going, what part of the country you're in, uphill or down -- it seems the winds are never in your favor.

we currently have a 2000 Itasca Suncruiser 35U with the Ford V10 usually towing a 2010 Jeep Liberty. average mileage is 6.5-7.2 but I tend to drive fast.

2007 34' Winny, pulling a CRV. We put about 10K miles on this year, and I do the math every tank. 6.6 is the most common tank I see. Sometimes barely into the low 7's. and when it spends a few hours pushing a headwind, or trying to keep up with (or stay out of the way of) traffic in the mountains, it can drop into the mid 5's

Last trip towing a twin axle trailer with the Mustang on it with our 2014 Itasca 35F we got around 7 mpg. We do get a little better when towing the Focus, but after the first two tanks, I quit checking as I bought it for recreation, not economy.

Tks. I also bought my 2015 Hurricane (gas) without worrying about the mileage. I knew it would be low mpg usage. Now let me go research about towing and go check it out. I need the (toad??) just for hitting other places and sight seeing and that so called run to a store. I aint walking no where, lol. Two blocks away I'm driving!

Anywhere between 4.5mpg to 10mpg depending on how/where you drive and how you are loaded. Keep it below 65 for your best mileage. Towing an enclosed trailer with a Harley Road King in it, I get about 7-8mpg as long as I keep the speed around 60-65. Don't really want to drive faster than that on the Coach anyway.
