So my awning has seen better days and looking to replace. What is price range is normal? Also thinking of doing a custom awning. Does this work need to go through dealer or can a qualified auto shop do this work? Do not want to pay arm and leg. Thanks.

Is it mechanically worn out or just the fabric bad? Replacing the fabric is pretty simple. Lots of Youtube how-to videos out there. Many fabric sellers on eBay.

I had the fabric replaced on our 2004 Tioga by a mobile RV repair guy and his wife. He ordered the same color, etc., as original, and the price installed was reasonable, can't remember how much. Get estimates, prices may vary a lot..

You can replace the fabric yourself. Purchase the generic exact replacement fabric from PPL Motorhomes, then go to Youtube. There are many videos on how to do it.

I replaced my fabric ($150) myself with the help of my son.

It came on a 24' Itasca Spirit.
It will be spring before I can get to it.

I second tough tops. better quality material and a lot cheaper than oem. utube is the answer for replacement. RVgeeks on utube show you who to contact and how to replace

We changed my B.I.L's ourselves... great how to videos on YouTube.. .. keep an iPad handy, qued up to one of those videos for cross checking...

It's not a bad job to do yourself if you have the help of a couple of people. Avoid the super cheapo replacment awnings on fleabay. They let a lot of sun and heat through.
