I guess on a unit with a large campside slide engineering has yet to come up with a good solution for an awning that will clear the slide and shed water. Sort of a pain if you ask me. I mean what are you supposed to do every time it rains and all your stuff on your patio gets wet? Chairs, grill, bikes, and heaven forbid you have a radio or want to put lights on your awning.

Just because you have had no problems does not mean you will not in the future. I make my living from repairing RV's. I probably replace at least 10 awnings a year from people that had them open and a sudden downpour hit them before they could get the awning up or down to shed the large amount of water that accumilates. It is amazing how fast that water accumilates in the awning and then causes a huge center bubble of water and once that happens, the water is so heavy, the only thing you can do is either slit the fabric or run away when the awning collapses.
