Hi all,

Looking for the best route traveling around Kansas City. I-35 from the north heading south on I-35 to Wichita. Will be dingy towing behind Class A. Should we take I-435 or head on the north side of KC and hit 70 to Topeka, then I-335? Planning to be in the KC area no earlier than 9pm.

Experience much appreciated
Thank You

I would take I435 around the east side. I35 through downtown KC can be confusing.

At 9:00 p.m. cutting thru KC via I35 will be a cake walk and that is the route I would recommend. It's well lit and will be no issue at all.

For me that whole route is a PITA. There is a very nice Casino and RV park off of HWY 75 called Prairie Band

I bypass all of the KS city stuff and head off of I35 at Cameron, MO. then down to Topeka.

We stay a couple of nights or more at the casino park. Nice area, good food, with a toad a few things to go and see. Those 145 miles will be two lane though with a certain amount of truckers that are also avoiding KS city.

Unless you are here in rush hour, I35 through the city is an easy drive. No stop lights. 2 exchanges that require you to slow down to 35-40 MPH. Roads are good. Maybe some construction on the very southern end, around Olathe, KS.

Take 435 W and follow it till it turns South. At the bottom of the loop were it turns back East you will meet back up with I 35. Do not go around the loop on the East side of the city. Lots of construction on the bottom side of the loop you will want to avoid.

No need to go I 70.
