Just a suggestion, If you are only doing short, one-night stops: Get a porta potty. Another poster suggested using one and I decided to get one. The one I got, (Amazon) has two chambers. The top one, (for flushing)holds 3 gallons, the bottom reservoir holds 5 gallons.
It can easily be cleaned when you get home. My TT has a huge bathroom and I have room for it. It's about the size of the TT toilet.
No pun intended but using a porta potty would go over like a turd in a punch bowl with my wife.
Thanks to everybody that responded, I figured I would get several different opinions on this subject now I have to decide what I want to do.
There are apparently lots of people that worry about black tanks. Unless it has a leak in the bottom, they are simple things that don't take a lot of fussing with. I have used mine for short trips and as overflow guests at the house. The one thing that I do if not traveling and using the tank enough to fill it is to add a septic tank/RV - Marine digesting liquid. What it contains are bacteria that naturally occur in septic tanks that liquify any solids that are in the tank.
It is not meant for when traveling and dumping as it takes time to work, but in your case it is just want you want. You can find it at hardware stores. I have never "flushed" my black tank in the last 14 years and it contiues to work just fine!
