Blackwater tank flush

I have a Fleetwood Pace Arrow, 2001. Inside the blackwater tank is a sprayer that clears out the paper when dumping tank. It has stopped working, probably stopped up. Anyone ever taken that out to clean or replace? I've filled it half way and added a gallon of Downey water softener for 100 miles. Cleaned the sensors, they work now but not the sprayer.

    No, not a Pace Arrow. I take it that you can't visualize by looking into the toilet as to if there is any water at all spraying in the tank. Nothing at all, would lead me to agree with others that it might be a check valve. I would be surprised if it went from working to zip if only plugged, especially after the cleaning steps you've taken.

    Yep, looked at both screens, clean. Is your rig a pace arrow? I just crawled under mine and the Black tank is mounted above the gas tank. Can't see a thing from underneath. From the dump station I can see the left rear corner of the tank and all the hoses that disappear along the side.

    In examining mine, I find that there is a debris screen at the hose inlet on the sprayer. This is to keep debris from the hose from entering the system. Have you checked that screen if you have one?

    X2 on the check valve located at the inlet of the sprayer. My original was made of plastic and I had it replaced with brass.

    And I would also recommend using Dawn or PineSol, vice a fabric softener....cutting grease is key to keeping everything in the black tank clean and moving.

    At the hose end or the nozzle there should be a check valve to keep offending liquids from leaking out in the tank level reaches the nozzle. The valve might be the problem rather than the nozzle. Compressed air as mentioned might free it up or if you can somehow pump a bit of lubricant into it. My system is after market and I use it pretty regularly so haven't had a need to effect repairs.
