Even if that last tire doesn't fail, see if Discount will replace it for you. They know it's three out of four, and they should not want you coming to them with extensive coach body damage caused by a separated radial tread. It happens all the time when an RV tire blows, and repairs are expensive.

They guys you talk to at the tire stores may not be "expert" about RV tires. Some will sell you old stock or tires that are "just as good". Just one more thing to do "due diligence" about.

I totally think it was from being parked 18 months. Never again.

They are cooper tires. Again, they only had 4 and said the other two were fine. 300 miles later one of those two are com8ng apart. It will be warranty too. Glad i have a brand new spare. Much nicer spot to wait this time. TA travel center. Now I hope the last one seperates at the end of tge trip home. It is not bulging yet. Obly 100 miles to go. Thanks for the treated wood tip. I will try that out.

I missed the Michelin recall date by a few months. Although I only had 15,000 on at 5 years I began to notice slight circumferential cracking on the sidewalls. My tires are always covered. I stayed with Michelin, got a great price and continued driving down the road knowing I did not push any limits. I am a firm believer in not sacrificing time and/or price for safety.

We took a trip last year to Camp Lejeune. We had a 13 Keystone Raptor with about 7000 miles. The tires looked almost new and were in fact about 3 years old. One shredded forty miles out. We changed it and by the time we got about 60 miles down the road. a second one shredded. I put 7 new ones on at the next stop.

I use the "cheapies" and have had little trouble over the years after being told by two employees of two different tire companies to park my Class C on TREATED lumber. Supposedly, asphalt, concrete, and even dirt suck the lubricants out of the tires and treated lumber does not. I also cover them during non-use periods. I live in NC and do not travel during the winter months so my Class C is in outside storage during that time.

Be sure and put the one remaining "old" tire on an outboard position on the rear, where it will be easier to change next time. Actually "easier" is a poor description. As Baja Man noted, his roadside assistance would not do inboard wheels, but its no harder than the outboard......... But if nothing else, will allow you to keep and eye on it during your travels.

Michelins are noted for premature sidewall checking, not just RV or truck tires, they all do it. My local, family owned tire shop won't sell them due to this.

Seems like early tire failure if tires were actually new when installed and were correct Michelins and were kept covered, not sun-baked. If tires have fairly deep cracks in side walls (over 1/16") they should be examined by good tire shop and replaced if needed. Warning signs are thumping, not to be confused with road noise. Caused by tread separation. I have had tire failures in mid-day 100 degree heat on rough cupped concrete highways.

What tires do you have? Are they from a major manufacturer or some cheapies?
