Buying RV furniture online

In the process of a substantial interior renovation and wondering what your experience has been buying RV furniture online. This is primarily for convenience - I don't have time for traditional shopping around. We are concerned about not being able to touch it before the purchase but there are no showrooms with RV furniture nearby (or at least I've not been able to locate one). Also interested to know if any of you have ever had to return a piece of furniture purchased online or did you just keep it even though not what you expected.

Those dual recliners from shop4seats.com look like they are worth the $1108 they are asking. Plus free shipping. Too bad I sold my old rig that needed updating. Oh well, everything else got upgraded too with my 2011.

Every once in a while I see "takeout" RV furniture for sale on Craigslist for real cheap. Usually almost new stuff.

Worth a look.

Redg - We have this double recliner in our rig. We didn't purchase it, the previous owners did. I think it is one of the most uncomfortable things I have sat in. We will be replacing it with Lay-Z-Boy recliners.

Thanks for the honest review. Still looking, but will mark that off our list.

If at all possible avoid buying "RV" furniture. Overpriced and not required. We installed a double recliner, home theater seating across from the TV and bought a super well built dining table from the Amish in Ohio. Look around and don't get hung up on the word "RV" and you will do much better.

Agree. We bought some new furniture for the RV, but not "RV" furniture.

After buying my 08 Itasca 30B Sunova new, I took out the extra beige ultra leather captain’s chair (the swivel chair with pedestal that's behind the passenger seat). It has swivel (rotates) and slides forward and back but has no tilt.

I like it to have a new home because it’s been in a closet at my house in Florida since new. It’sbasically brand new chair.

I’ll bet others have similar RV furniture they’d be happy to sell so you may want to query members if there’s a wanted/sell section on this or other RV forums.

Each to his own but I sure wouldn't spend money on something I had sat on.

Well, thanks for the continuing ideas. Everytime we think we make a decision, new info comes to our attention and sends us back to square 1. Coach is still at the dealer getting the furniture removed, carpet and fabrics stripped and tossed and the interior/vents/etc professionally cleaned so we still have time.

In our model coach the 40" TV is directly across from the seating making it perfect for a theater style couch.

I agree that you should disregard the word RV when buying chairs and sofas. For tables you may need specific to accommodate your needs. Shop local first.

HERE is another online source, if you need it.
how would the theater seating work?

Subarban seats is excellent, Flexsteel, and you can try salvage but most I've hauled or seen were worn and dirty and you could'nt see that online.

We have been using residential furniture for years now and found midst rv specific stuff to be overpriced and under constructed.

I wouldn't but furniture without checking it out first. Make some time and go buy some residential stuff.
