Campgroungs Directory

I was looking for a Woodalls camping directory and was informed it is no longer in publication! Is the Good Sam travel guide book the one to get that would replace Woodalls??
  • There are several smart phone app's that are free for campground directories. They are very easy to use rather than the large books. Woodalls is one of them. Good Sam has one. My favorite is RV Parks.
  • to me its a joke as to the size of it & very slanted toward GS also if you remember W had two books 1 east of Miss river other west much easier for right seat to read while moving on road. ITS JUST TOO BIG
only problem its the only game in town in print
  • I tried the Woodall's directory a couple of years ago and was very disappointed. Many of the directions to the campgrounds were wrong. One CG owner told me "I've told them again and again their directions are wrong, and they won't change them".

I have used the Good Sam/Trailer Life directory for years. The last one I got though (2014, I think) disappointed me. It seems there are an awful lot of RV parks that are not Good Sam Parks, that have no write-up in them. All they have is the name, an address, and a phone number. They don't even give the number and size of the sites. Seems there are a lot more of those than there used to be.

Having said all that, though, I still think the Good Sam/Trailer Life directory is the best available.

  • I'm not sure you can still get the Trailer Life directory. Last time I bought one the publisher of both (Good Sams, used to be Affinity) had combined into one.

I would buy Woodalls and Trailer Life in alternate years because the listings did not totally overlap, but preferred Trailer Life as it was a bit more RV focused.
  • Get the Trailer Life Directory book from Camping World. Last year...10 bucks.
  • Yes that's it
I use the on line version and I pad version

On line version is better than the I pad app
