Ceiling 4" Diameter Pancake Lights

Does/has anyone had a problem with the chrome reflector that has a hole for the bulb (the halogen which gets superr hot) sticking thru. The black round housing that the 2 chrome tips slip thru .... they always crumble and won't stay in place while trying to attach the outer defuser!!! Did I explain that correctly to understand??
