Coach Search.....PITA

When we bought our existing coach it was spur of the moment, never looked at a class A before type of experience and had no idea till later just how lucky we were.

Now that we're thinking about a newer coach, we're sort of spoiled and having a tough time finding one that fits our needs (wants) so I'm looking for suggestions.

Requirements:

Min 40 ft DP
Euro Recliner with desk
3 slides minimum
2004 or newer
Quality Construction
Washer Dryer combo or stackable
Agua Hot
Engine 500 HP preferred 425 minimum
Buying price not to exceed $125,000

Ceiling mount drop down TV preferred
Girard Awning Preferred

So far the most difficult requirement to fill has been the recliner and desk vs, the two sofa layout.

If anyone has some coach model/floor-plan to recommend it would be appreciated. Since we're in no hurry I just need a few option to keep searching for.
  • PPL in Houston has a 2005 Country Coach Magna advertised at $151k--I'm sure it's negotiable. 42 feet, 4 slides and the same engine as yours, except rated at 525HP. It has a Euro-recliner, but didn't look like it had a desk--could be easily installed. From pictures, looks nice.

Yeh, we're finding this is a tough act to follow and does set the standards bar rather high.

I have looked at the option of pulling out a sofa and replacing it with a custom desk and recliner but found that not all slides have a full length bottom so that doesn't always work.

We'll keep looking but if we can't find what we like, we'll just continue to be happy with what we have.

Your wish list and price range will put you closer to the 2004 model year. The options that you listed will include a lot more amenities which will raise the price some. Our 2008 Dynasty will probably sell in the $175-190 range depending on how interested a buyer is. And, ours is loaded up pretty good as it had a MSRP of $456,000.

So many upper end coaches have the recliner/desk combo. And is it easy to add one if everything else on the coach is to your liking. There are many RV remodel places that will do what you want to make it perfect.

    Good luck,
    MM.
  • 04-07 Dynasty :) Several models have the computer desk/Euro option. 400/425 ISL is the same just 425 is a DEF engine.

    Good Luck :)
  • We removed the opposing couches and had a company in Bend OR install a credenza with pull out desk, drawers and storage area on one side and a flip up desk on the other with recliners to set in. This way, we got what we wanted for an interior and the rest of the coach was perfect for us. We liked the PRQ floor plan so it worked perfect that way. The shop in Bend is owned and operated by a couple old Beaver employees with tons of knowledge of the Monaco line.

  • Hi,

The desk problem is easy to solve. Pick out the desk that you want, then find a RV with easy to remove dinette, table and chairs, or couch. You are allowed to remove any of the furniture or cabinets within the RV that you like! It is your RV, not a rental one.

I am thinking about getting a toy house, and then put in a couple of Lazy Boy Recliners, yet those massage chairs seem like a perfect fit as well!
