I have the same Coachman as you are looking at the 28'. I have had this for 6 years now and have had no major issues. I do drag race so I had to buy a new aluminum trailer to stay under the 5000 lbs. That is one area you do not want to exceed. I know that everyone has there own opinions about diesel vs gas and a 28' vs a 38 or 40' MH. This is my take. I only use my MH in the spring and fall. I average about 5000 miles a year. So there was no benefit for me to spend more money to get a diesel. the payback would take to long. The big thing for me is the size. I always went backpacking and wilderness camping when I was younger. So I enjoy remote sites. A lot of the places I go you cannot have a trailer or MH longer than 30'. This is why I ended up with a 28' class A. Don't get me wrong there are a ton of advantages with going with a bigger rig. For me I am all set for now. In a few years when I start going across the country and to Alaska I will upgrade to a newer and larger Diesel rig.
I would say figure out your needs and go from there.
just my 2 cents
