Considering installing an electric pressure washer

I had a Karcher? and had an electrical problem. Results could have been far worse than they were. IMHO I don't trust the electrical washers and will only have a gas driven in the future. Just me.

I have a pressure washer but do not use it on the MH. If not very careful, it will drive water where it's not supposed to be, and if you have stick ons, it will loosen them.

I had this same idea three years ago when we purchase our present rig. I have the room and, tying it into the water system would be easy. All I'd have to do after that is, get a longer pressure hose for the nozzle.

But, I think you'll have a good thing when your done. I want it for rinsing off the coach in places like the back corner of a Walmart parking lot or, any other open, out of the way area because as all of us know, about 99.9999999% of the camp grounds out there do not allow for washing of coaches unless it's a business that details them and comes into the park. I've carried my little Karcher 1200 psi unit for about that long and have used it several times. The water pump keeps up with it just fine.

It will run off the inverter but, most of the time, when we're in the corner of parking lot or, even out at a rest stop where there's no one else for me to bother, I'll run the generator to power it up. It really works slick. I use maybe, 5-8 gallons of water for the whole coach.

So, OP, I think you've got a good plan. Not sure you need the hot water. The pressure side will work just fine for you. Your choice.

I'll be full-timing and there is a lot of room in the basement storage area.

I would ask? Are you a fultimer or just a weekend/vac RVer? If fulltimer, then perhaps I guess I could justify the bulk and weight of the unit, but if not, I'd leave it at home and just do the cleanup you think you need a pressure washer for then. BTW: I've never used a pressure washer on my MH in 9 years of fulltiming except: the one at a car wash to clean the radiator. It took me 7 years to give up the basement space for a small but efficient air compressor :)

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to now. You may have just saved me a bunch of time and some money.

In the kitchen at my work, they have a 'installed' pressure washer to do the floors. It is only rated for cold water, and there is a nearby sink with the typical hot and cold faucet handles, but the hot valve is removed. You could put in a hot and cold faucet, then turn on a mixture of hot and cold going to the pressure washer.

1400 PSI should be plenty of pressure. Your water pump should provide enough flow to the pressure washer. This should work fine to get off the bugs and stuff, without enough power to wash away the graphics (unless you get to close, so be careful).
