- snooperExplorerAt 72, bought 30 ft "A", first trip 8,000 miles and 10 weeks from Washington ST. to Florida and back... great trip, great company (wife) and enjoyed the freedom of no schedules... Planning a trip on Sept to Yellow stone and beyond...
- 2wheelerExplorerJust bought a 30' used motorhome at age 75. I have had RVs for years now, so I'm not a newcomer to this. The one major (in my mind) concession I made for age i that I had them install a high quality backup camera.
If you're new at this, you might consider renting once or twice to see how it goes out there on the road - Rog___NanExplorerWe bought a second MH last year. We are 83 and 81. Still have our 21 year old class A bought a 27' class C. Have already been up to lower northern Michigan with it and our daughter and son use the "new to us" 2008 C also. We are just more comfortable in the smaller one for long trips at our ages. We just can't stop so we are adapting our style a little. Enjoy., while you can. Good luck.

Thinking of buying first motorhome at 73...anyone here do anything crazy like that?
Yes! - LwiddisExplorer IIHilldude, could you take long trips if you joined our 2:30/230 club? Stop at 2:30 p.m. or at or before hitting 230 miles.
- jplante4Explorer IIThis question is like those stupid posts on Facebook where someone posts a picture of a potato masher and says "Can anyone name what this is used for?" Criminy, I have one in my drawer in the kitchen. It's really not old, it's just you idiots that have never mashed you own potatoes think it's this marvel of an age gone by.
As long as you can handle the regular tasks of setup and moving on, age does not matter. I sold my gasser to a guy in his fifties and I wondered if he'd be able to do what needed to be done. It's not your age but whether or not you can mash potatoes by hand that counts. - nbkingExplorerI have purchased three motor homes since I turned 70. Age has nothing to do with it. Just enjoy it.
I have to go for my first "over 80" driving test next month when I turn 80. Don't know what to expect but not particularly worried. If I can't drive because they think I am unsafe, I will stop.
Otherwise, I continue RVing for two more years - and then another test. - tropical36Explorer

Well, you did save a bundle with used and if anyone has been led to believe that new ones come without problems, they will have another think coming and especially in the first year of ownership, where many have gotten very little use and with spending most of their time at the dealership. - Sue_N_DizExplorerBought our first MH a year ago at age 72! - Triker33ExplorerBought my present MH when I was retired at 64 in 2002. I still have it and still Full time in it 15 years later. No plans to quit Full time or trading the MH.
At 76 I did buy my last Toad I will ever need. Love the Twin Turbo in it. After some tuning at a speed shop. It does the 1/8th mile at 8.5 seconds and 80MPH. :)
