Dash Air (Update)

My dash air on my 1999 National Tradewinds went on and off intermittently while driving yesterday. Today after being stopped for about 5 hours, it won't come on and blow any air at all. No fan or blower motor at all. Any thoughts? Fuse? Switch/ etc? I am thinking I will look first for the fuse if I can find it.

I now think I have a rheostat or something like that which got hot and interrupted 12v to my AC. I hot wired it and the fan and everything worked fine. I think I will hot wire it until I get home and can search out the wiring further. I'm still open for any ideas you may have. Thanks.
  • Ours quit awhile back. Recharged the system , has worke fine so far. 2013 40u Winnie, Journey. No S&B. 4 years full time!

Try unplugging and re-plugging every connector you can find around the lower end of the steering column for cleaning and maybe coat a little Vaseline or silicon grease on the contacts, as well..
  • We had a problem with our dash AC. The fan would work but only on high speed. We decided to fix it before it quit all together.

We have a Monaco DP mh but I believe most are similar.

It turns out the fan switch was a Ford Part which we got at a nearby Ford Dealer. We were told it would either be the fan switch or the resistor. The fan switch is on the front passenger side of the MH, accessed through the generator compartment. It was an easy replacement, but unfortunately not the problem. Oh well, It was only a $27 part. The resistor was a little harder to locate but in the same general area. Hubby got it out and replaced and we now have all 4 dash fan speeds. I'm not sure this is your problem since you have no fan at all. I did a Google search and found our problem was quite common. Good luck.
  • Sounds like a loose connection somewhere that gets jiggled on the road. I'd start at the back of the heater controls pushing connectors in. If there's a connection block anywhere, take it apart, shoot some contact cleaner in and firmly reconnect.
