I guess all that you have to do is contact your insurance agent. The article says that some companies offer a discount but the article pertains mainly to the UK. I would guess that as they become more numerous, and are tested in court, that the insurance companies will start to encourage their use.
Right now they only have the black boxes on the automobiles to use to determine what was happening to a vehicle before an accident. These are not on RV's and they do not give any information about what the other driver was doing leading up to an accident.

Actually not at all. It only appears that way because of the angle I took it at. I have a full unobstructed view of the road from the driving position.

However, as an aside, I've dropped the GPS down about another inch since then and moved it further towards the driver because I fabricated a more stable mount.

I would like to have one to capture the wildlife that pops up and then runs before you can get your camera booted up.

Would appreciate any reports of users with a good hi res cam for this purpose.

I tried a GoPro a couple of years ago for this and it was a glitchy unreliable piece of junk.

Garmin Dash Cam 35 here. Works great.
