dodge truck for a toad

Hi to all from Denny and my wee blonde Ida, I want to put this out on the forum. we are going to get a toad for our jayco motor home. We have talked to a local dealer about setting up our 2012 chev equinox as a toad. Price was ok but the idea of turning it into a toad and doing all that to a fairly new car did not set to well with me. WE do have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 4wd with the hemi that I would love to tow but I have not seen one or herd of any one setting one up. Would love to hear from anyone on this idea. See you on the road or in camp Denny and my wee blonde Ida
  • I've towed my 2006 Ram 1500 4x4 through the Smoky Mountains with no problems

Not sure about the OP's motorhome but note that d_denver is towing his pick up with a class A diesel pusher.
  • what does your owner's manual say under recreational towing or towing behind a motorhome? that is the best/only guide IMHO.

  • A full size pick up is pretty heavy for a toad but it can be done if you have enough reserve capacity in your gross combined weight rating. Look in this forum for the recent thread about the guy wanting to tow 7000 pounds. You probably won't want to tow it in the mountains, but maybe you don't want to go where there are mountains.
