With my first coach I had AAA RV Plus. I broke down in Biggs Junction, OR, and had to be towed 136 miles to Bend, OR, which was the nearest qualified repair facility. AAA only covered the first 100 miles. I had to pay $162.00 (36 miles x 4.50 per mile).

If I had Coach Net then, as I do now, they would have covered the entire tow charge.

Correct, but if you had AAA Premium, to compare apples to apples, AAA would be no charge too.

Yes, have used them twice for my Class A no problem. Other services won't tow my Classic cars if needed, so have been using AAA Premium for 5+ years. Will allow one 200 mile too, then the rest 100 mile, but they *will* tow you home as opposed to the nearest station. Nice compared to the others. I had my Dodge Ram plow truck towed 120 miles home as opposed to the local service place and fixed myself.

Not sure why the other posters are saying no on RVs. Call AAA and find out yourself as opposed to some of the incorrect answers.

I also see you are from Syracuse (OP). When I last called AAA for my RV, Robby C's from Canastota arrived and did a great job...last time the guy was from Fulton NY, also did a great job and both removed the drive shafts correctly.

I had AAA with 100 mile and RV. My class C broke down about 45 miles from home and it cost me several hundred dollars. AAA would only pay a portion of the cost.
The same thing with tire repair. They allow a certain amount of time and anything over that you have to pay for, Good luck finding this out until you have an emergency. I went to Coach Net. So far I haven't had to use them so I can't say how they are.

I will flat out tell you that NOT all AAA divisions have or honor other divisions RV Plus. Whoever you talked to either lied to you or had NO idea what they were talking about.....Yes many on here have or had AAA RV Plus and got screwed as several have told you, including myself.

I had AAA RV & Motorcycle towing, as they were packaged together. I only wanted the M/C towing. Even though it was packaged together, I wouldn't use AAA for an RV. As others stated, they'll tell you anything, but may be very problematic 1000's of miles from home. I think the difference in price between their standard vehicle towing and RV towing would leave you enough money to buy GS or CoachNet.

I have it, but also have GS ERS. With AAA RV Plus, you may call for a tow truck, but you may find the local AAA does not provide RV services. When this happens, you pay out of pocket, and submit a claim to your AAA. Get out your credit card when this happens, it is anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500 just to get the tow truck to you, then there is a mileage charge. It can add up quick. You will get your money back eventually, but it takes from 30-60 days.

We live in Oregon, had a flat/blow out rear inside tire in S. California and AAA took care of calling someone and took care of the whole replacement No worries.

This question makes no sense to me. RV Plus is for (factory) RV as stated on their website. That is why they call it AAA RV Plus

I have no clue what you are trying to say...what is "factory RV " ???

It is listed on their web site. Without talking to them, I would assume it refers to no homemade RVs. Again, without talking to them, I would assume that it covers all RV from a reputable Mfgr/factory.
AAA Page

Did you ask them about coverage areas and if there are exceptions? Wyoming is a big open area where coverage may be sparse if they have coverage.

I suspect that coverage area is not an issue and the reason some get the response that it is not available in their area is that of a state or county insurance commission or regulation which regulates sales in those communities. They are likely required to provide service but is an important question.

I have Good Sam Platinum Roadside Assistance; they will tow your vehicle "to the nearest professional service center capable and willing to repair your vehicle."
No mileage or cost limit. If you need a tow in the middle of nowhere (Alcan Highway), it could get very expensive with a 100 mile limit.

.

luberhill ,

As a new member to the forum , I do not know your level of experience when it comes to RVing .
The members of this forum do not have any financial gain or benefit from the advice that is given , but they have the experience to back up their statements .

The person that you talked to at AAA may not have any real world experience with RV's , but is reading the authorized comments in their customer service book .

I have had AAA on my cars and trucks and they did a good job , but they are not trained or equipped to handle the towing or movement of my class A .

Professional Road Service and Towing is a form of insurance that we should all carry , but it must fit the type of vehicle .

You did not state the type/information on your coach - that is always helpful in given correct advice .
