The new EGR valve on my engine was $1600...just for the valve. Somebody is making a fortune off them. Why do you think your engine won't last as long? Biggest issue is trying to convince the computer that stuff is still there......Dennis

Turbo issues with Cummins ISM's, valve issues with Cummins ISX's...EGR's and other emmission controls have shortened the life span of many good engines.

Here is Texas position on it.

Texas law prohibits any person from selling, offering for sale, leasing, or offering to lease any vehicle not equipped with all emission control systems or devices in good operable condition. Violators are subject to penalties under the Texas Clean Air Act of up to $25,000 per violation. Buyers are advised to have the vehicle checked for all required emission control devices prior to purchasing a new or used vehicle.

Don't know about other states.

I would not recommend it. I know some of the Emissions systems have been deleted by SOME Drivers and owner/operators (Do not know which) but I'd not suggest you do it..... Potential legal issues.

That said. I'm not a lawyer and thus the qualified "Potential issues" is as loud as I can get.

If it is not already law. I suspect some day they may pass a law that if a mechanic or technician notices the modifications to the Emissions system he has to "Buzz the Fuzz" as it were. There is precedent for such a rule.
