Electric scooter instead of Toad?

We've decided we aren't going to have a tow vehicle, but I was thinking there are probably a few times where it will be handy to have something better than a bicycle to get around on. Has anybody bought an electric scooter or similar to get around locally on? It doesn't have to be a full sized motorcycle, some sort of 1-person device is fine. Any suggestions?

Keep in mind the legality of some of these scooters varies from state to state. The same even holds true of some gasoline powered mopeds / scooters.

If you are talking about a regular scooter or motorcycle just an EV version, it can work with some limitations.

If you are talking about the small toys, that may or may not get you around the campground but it likely won't be viable for much more.

Major downsides:
- Rain, cold, weather.
- Not too useful for grocery shopping or carrying anything.
- What is the range you need? Particularly if there are two of you riding, the range may be much less.

It's viable if you are willing to live with the limitations.

I have seen one and/or two electric scooters on the back of motorhomes. Seem to serve the purpose of getting around fairly local and street legal.

Yes, be sure it has either two or four wheels. The single wheel in the front on a trike is trouble when turning corners.
There are some folding electric scooters out there.
