A few months after we bought our new 2009 Jayco Greyhawk, our step started doing weird things. It would go out as expected, but often times it would not retract, even when the key was put in the ignition. At the same time, I could not adjust the side-veiw mirrors with the controller.
We took it in to a dealer fo that and some other warranty work. We were told that the steps were wired improperly. After it was fixed, the steps worked properly and the mirrors could be adjusted too.
Bad grounds and short circuits can cause all kinds of goofy things to happen.
