Electrical Help Please

i have a 2006 Fleetwood Bounder diesel that only charges the house batteries on shorepower. I have a Big Boy Battery Isolator Relay and a Battery Control Center(BCC) #F73-1042. I'v e been told there is a bad solenoid in the BCC behind the fuse board but the schematics show no solenoid in there and I don't want to take the BCC apart if I don't have to. Need help where to look? Is the Big Boy only there to connect all batteries when the AUX Start button is pushed? Any help is appreciated

    Our 2005 Fleetwood Excursion does not charge the starting batteries on shore power either - but it wasn't designed to. Are you sure yours is supposed to?

    I would assume that's why there is a Battery Control Center

    The batter control center may have a charge function from shore power, however many do not. Look on the circuit board for a fuse marked BD if equipped would energize a charge relay. That is a bi-directional relay.

    May want to look in a "Echo Charger" a device that allows charging of the chassis battery/batteries while on shore power.

    why not the BBC model number
    either from the schematic on the inside of the cover
    or from the number on the circuit board

    post that here

    we can help you look up the functions for that model

    My RV did not come with starter battery charging so I added a Trik-L-Star.

    Just to be sure....my older motorhome did not charge the chassis battery while on shore power...the fix, NOT a bandage is the Echo Charger. It connects between the House batteries and chassis allowing just enough charge to bleed off to the chassis to keep it topped off. The Echo Charger does not connect to anything but the batteries, no separate plug in(120 volt) hence the name, Echo!

    PS....it's made by Xantrex, the same people who make Inverters????

    A Battery Control Center, does NOT mean it has multiple functions like charging the Chassis batteries when connected to Shore Power. It is just the term for the appliance. Some do charge the Chassis batteries, but older Motorhomes like yours it was not a common feature. A LOT of current Motorhomes have a Echo or a plug in 120 trickle charger for the chassis batteries. One of the problems(annoyance really), was built in BCC systems that do engage the relay to charge the chassis batteries would constantly open and close the solenoid and make a loud thump when doing it. Kind of annoying in the middle of the night. Doug
