Engine monitoring system question

I would like to add an engine monitoring system to my RV (P30 7.4 Vortec) like the ScanGauge II system.

This system seems to do the job but I dislike the small screen. Are there better systems with larger displays?

Actually I would prefer an Iphone or Ipad app with an ODB-II to wifi hardware, because it’s more user friendly and I have a few unused iphones at home and one ipad not used.
Ideas? Comments?

Thanks
  • I think I will go for a wifi obd-II connector and the Dash Command app on iphone/ipad

Sure. Just go on ebay and search for an elm bluetooth adapter. That should be about $12. Then with the smart phone or tablet search for an app called Torque. The paid version which is what you want its $5. Now you can customize it to your liking.

Has anyone else done this with a Class A DP and what sort of data do you get?

I don't like putting out the $400 for "cables" for the VMCpc system.

    Thanks

  • Silverleaf does PC type stuff. The software is free, you buy the cable, apps for intel laptops, as well as I think drois and maybe ipad.

These guys are the cadillac, worth checking into

Tho now that I think of it, they may just be fore DP's
