Not sure how Ford wired them, on many GMs the fuel pump relay runs for a few seconds to pressurize the system, then shuts power off. The fuel pump runs on mine through the oil pressure gauge sending unit.
I will try a site to see if I can see how your fuel pump gets power after initial charge.

Only thing I saw was Ford has an inertia switch on some vehicles. F53 was not showing much for wiring diagrams. Did show several(three) fuses that are hot all the time. One feeds fuel pump relay with coil operated from ECM.
