Fair Price Off Of MSRP

I know there have been other threads on this, but it's been a while. I am getting the itch to buy a new MH. The 2015 Winnebago View has my eye. Being that Winnebago (IMHO) is high quality and price, what is a reasonable amount or percent off of MSRP that a frugal Dutchman could expect to get? Let's say the MSRP is $118,000 as an example. To keep it clean, no trade in or financing. Also, not sure if leverage is less if ordering vs. getting something on the lot.

Many people purchase a PC to downsize from something large like yours and bigger yet. I do find it strange that a few people downsize for just a few feet shorter. Why bother for so little? But taking 9 to 10 feet and then a lower roof and narrower body, that is a significant size reduction. Just make sure you are ready to go so small. Some people have a hard time transitioning. The optional slide out helps with that.

One can get what is called a "build sheet" from the dealer. It lists the real MSRP of the RV and all the options. Add everything up, discount it 25% and there's the price you don't want to pay more than.

Yep, I'm in Cary. Thanks for the information. They look really nice. Still just thinking about this. My class A is about 34', so I need to make sure we'd be good with a smaller coach. I think it will be better for travel trips and vacations. Not ready to retire and part or full-time yet!

We must live close to each other, us in West Dundee. Since you are looking at a View, you might want to check out our comparable rig HERE, a Phoenix Cruiser 2350, built in Elkhart, IN. Our garage is well lit and 72 degrees in this miserable weather. Though our rig is now 7 years old, they have not changed much. They are offered today on the Ford E350 and the Sprinter chassis, with and without a slide out. CLICK HERE to go to their website which has an MSRP calculator after selecting your options.

Phoenix factory direct sales are ball parked around 22% off MSRP, best deals in November/December....that is right now when you might get near 30% off.

They also offer our rig made one foot longer (model 2351) which offers pantries and/or a longer bed, and/or a bigger slide out. Lots of semi-custom choices with that model.

I should also mention Phoenix USA takes trade-ins and offers financing. They are very flexible with customer requested deviations that don't mess with the core design, and they don't charge a premium for them either.

Much better to figure out what a fair price is and compare prices you're able to negotiate to that price. About the only way you'll actually feel good about it. Decide what options you want and then contact dealers asking for their best out the door price. It doesn't matter what % you get off published price. If you are willing to travel, expand the search area.

I was looking at the View for a while. Dakzuki describes precisely the process I was planning to use, and that's also exactly the outcome I was expecting: Local dealer gets close enough to the distant dealer's price, and you get around 25% off MSRP.

If you order from them, the dealer has their money tied up for a smaller amount of time (if at all) thus costing them less on their line of credit.

Lewis RV in Ohio and Lichtsinn in Iowa will give you a quote on-line and they seem to have the best prices around. We got ours from Lichtsinn for a good price and are very pleased with our Via. We had a few small warranty issues when we got back to Colorado, and the local Winnebago dealer fixed them without any problems.

That is a nice MH. I can't believe the 24V has twin beds and is only 25'8" in length.

remember to add all fee,s into your offer ,tax,,title prep and any other rediculas fee they come up with. take 30% off and digger it down some more.

Yes this is what I am also seeing. For the View, I've heard Lichtsinn Motors will hit that range if you order from them. At a minimum, having a quote from them should get you leverage with the local dealer.

Also mhsrv.com advertises a minimum 25% off! up to even 35-40 off on some models. And RV direct seems to go 35% off routinely.
