Fender Skirt Blew Away After Tire Failure
Does anyone know where I can get a salvaged or after-market fender skirt (driver's side) for my 2001 National "Tradewinds",39FT, Model LTC7390?
I just purchased our 25,000 mile, 13 yr old coach, and on our first 400 mile trip we lost a tire that exploded at the sidewall doing 63MPH!
This episode could have led to a catastrophe, but fortunately when the fender skirt blew off it only hit the side of the car next to us and then spun into the center divider. Had the skirt hit someone's windshield...someone could have died!
Please.... if you are driving on 10 year old tires...and especially if you know your rig has been sitting for years...please get your tires replaced before you experience what happened to us. Old RV tires, no matter how much tread is left on them, act like a bomb when the sidewall fails!!!
We were fortunate to only experience some inconveniences and an insurance claim. Now we are having trouble finding a fender skirt. Does anyone know were to find one?
