Fleetwood Excursion (and others) slide outs slow and jerky

The slide outs on my 2005 Excursion are not working as smooth and fast as they were. I have lubricated the chains and screws. Does anyone with a Fleetwood Excursion, Discovery, Providence or other similar type slide outs have any tricks or helpful hints to keep the slide outs working smoothly?
  • Thanks to all who responded. I will check the power connections, which I had not thought of as I don't seem to have any low voltage problems else where. Also I am going to wax the sides, or maybe silicone the seals. Thanks again for the help and if anyone else has any thoughts about this problem please chime in.
  • Try waxing the area on the slide that touches the rubber scrubbers top, sides and bottom helped on my Holiday Rambler . The batt. connections is also good place to check.
  • Never lubricated anything on mine and haven't had any issues and they work the same as original after 10 yrs. Does sound like it could be a power issue?
  • On my Discovery the more I use the slides the smoother they work. I am convinced that the worst thing for a MH is not using it enough. If you don't find any answers on this site don't be afraid to call Fleetwood, I only called them once and I could tell the fellow who helped me knew his stuff.;)
  • If your batteries and connections are good, make sure you keep the seals around the slideouts lubricated.
