Saw Ernie post earlier in this thread and thought maybe he would answer, but I would think there is very little difference in weight since you're removing carpet & pad with all the dirt. :). I really don't know. I do know the engineered hardwood used actually made for a quieter ride inside. We've put about 10k miles since the installation on the RV & even the DW says it's better with less noise. Not sure why, but we noticed it.
We absolutely love having the hardwood floors. Spruced up the 05 RV too. ;)
