The bottom line is you can do whatever you want when it comes to your registration. Just do not complain when your home state busts you. We bought our 08 HR in Nov of 08. It was purchased, licensed and registered in North Dakota, for tax and registration savings, using my S-i-L's address. We lived in CA and did not hit the road until the middle of 09. The RV was stored in the driveway and covered so the plates did not show. When we were driving down the road no one in CA had any idea as to where our primary residence was. I was in violation of CA law but I took the chance knowing I would be on the road out of state for a good period of time and would only be coming back to sell the house. Our toad, which was on a trailer registered in CA, was also registered in CA but the only time CHP checks for registration violations is if there is a boat with AZ registration on a CA registered trailer behind an out of state RV. Unless they see you commuting daily in your out of state registered vehicle.
