Freelander city water inlet repair problem

Question

my 2010 coachman freelander has an inset box where the city water inlet is, along withe the switches that you set for fill /  pump / city water. The one way valve is defunct,and I am trying to change the inlet. However, the hose on the inside has a "Steamboat Willy's shipwheel" type plastic connector that prevents pulling the hose through the opening. I removed the four square-head screws and tried pulling out the box to get behind it, but it doesn't come out far enough to accomplish that.  I'd post a photo, but I don't see how to post an attachment here. Anyone know how to get this done?

and I assume there is no access to the rear through an interior opening or from underneath?

None that I can find. I'd have to drop a tank to get at it from below, and either go through a wall or remove the shaower to get at it from inside.
BTW: is there a way to attach a photo on this forum? It would make things a lot clearer if I could.
