We have a 2014 Southwind 32 VS, and I had trouble putting gas in the unit. The fill cap is in the rear of the unit in a recessed compartment like area behind the drop-down license plate. The nozzle from the fueling station would not fit properly into the fill cap due to a bad angle. I had to hold the nozzle away from the fill cap partially as it would not seat in properly.Has anyone else had this problem. This was the first time I had to put gas in the RV, was driving it home from the dealer and stopped at my local gas station, which I've been using for years to fill my Class C with no problems.

Welcome to the forum.I'd be on the phone to the dealer right a way! There has to be a better way to fuel up and probably other buyers have mentioned the problem.

Thanks, I did call him as soon as I got home, and he (the salesman) said he never heard of anyone having this problem. He thought maybe it was an older pump, but the station is a Sunoco and had new pumps installed about 3 years ago...

My fill is also behing the license plate. I never had a problem with the nozzle. You can't insert the nozzle stright in, just turn it a little left or right and it will fit just fine.

Maybe I wasn't close enough to the pump to get a good angle, I'm going to try another station asap to see if the nozzles are different...

I had exactly that problem with my RV , though a completely different make. The metal filler as was at at an incorrect angle. The filler assembly,in my rig, was connected to a rubber hose , which was connected to a metal pipe that ran to the gas tank. This "coupler hose" was slightly too long, resulting in the gas filler assembly to mounted to the rear RV body at an incorrect angle. It was an easy thing to correct by measuring and reducing the length of the rubber hose.I can't says if yours is set up in a similar way, but your dealer should correct this, what ever the cause, under warranty.

I'd be on the phone to the dealer right a way! There has to be a better way to fuel up and probably other buyers have mentioned the problem.

I can't says if yours is set up in a similar way, but your dealer should correct this, what ever the cause, under warranty.

I had problems with my new gasser Monaco. The line from the filler neck to the tank is long. The support for that pipe broke between the filler neck and tank. Make sure that flex pipe is fully supported. I couldn't get fuel in my tank either. If you could believe it that flex pipe was held up with zip ties. Duh!!!. The problem is the flex pipe is so long it needs to be supported properly.

Hmmm, that sounds interesting. I remember that I could not raise the handle high enough to get the spout in because it would not fit in the recessed area where the filler was at any angle.

Someone had to drive the RV from Indiana to Harrisburg, PA., so you'd think they would have run into the same problem when they had to gas up along the way. It had over 500 miles on it and they was 3/4 of a tank when I picked it up.

As has been mentioned, don't put the nozzle in vertically. Turn the handle onto its side and insert it horizontally and it'll fit with no problem.

try gassing up at at least one other station to be sure about the nozzle itself.

I will also chime in that often I have to turn the handle to either side a bit on ours. I also angle the rig a little so the rear is even closer to the pump.
