We travel to many University of Florida football games and RV's are parked nearly on top of each other. The vent is a necessary. The problem most diy models have a hard time drawing the air into the unit. If this is something you have fun with there are some good directions on the forum. If you just want it to work the Gen-turi is a good value and easy to use.

We actually purchased and installed one of the Genturi towers. We did have to make a modification to extend the connectors so that we could accomidate the basement door. With the door closed, the generator would over-heat. This way we can maximize the air flow and still kick the fumes out over the wagon.

It's good to see that it seems I had a pretty good idea. Or at least a common idea. I've never seen one of these things before.

I fabricate pretty much anything my coach needs like shelves, metal brackets etc, but there are just some things that it's better to buy the one made commercially. The Genturi is one of those.

Just so you know, the Genturi won't be the cure all to your noise. It will reduce it some, but gas generators are loud. Add the Genturi and try taking an old piece of dense shag carpet, (about 36' x 36') and throw it on the ground under your generator. A lot of the noise from the gas generators is bouncing off of the ground.

The Genturi is often on sale at both Camping World and Amazon for around $90. It includes the storage/carry bag for the pipe, adaptors and all mounting and support parts.

Here's three pictures of one I made out of alum gutter down spout for $15. If no one real close, I sometimes only use a 90 degree conduit sweep as once you get the hot air going up, it keeps going.
*Got a chuckle out of reading some of the post about making your own when you put it on a 6 figure RV. For those that say go buy one for $109... it's really costing you $#150 after all taxes (income tax 35%).

I use the Camco Gen-Turi.. advantages are it is easy to assemble and attach, take off and bag, it has only once gotten too hot to touch, (That was from the heat of the sun, NOT the generator) I've run with it for 24 hours straight and still able to hold on to the black pipe for over a minute comfortably (just do not touch metal parts) And it is very light weight.

I have seen home made versions.. Some get hotter, and all of 'em are heavier.

Do not park next to me without one if your generator exhausts towards me please. (either home made or store bought, I don't care.. Just make sure you have one)
