Generator Maintenance

Just an FYI, The first oil change on a 8000 diesel is at 50 hours...

250 hours seems logical but once a year is not I only maybe use mine 10 hours in a year so it pointless to change oil just because a year has lapsed

I change oil and filter every year. I run my generator constantly while going down the road to run AC and wife using computer for work. It is an easy job and I do it myself.

We change oil annually on our gas Onan when prepping and de-winterizing our rig for the first trip of the season. It only takes a couple of quarts and have always used synthetic over the last decade. Our Onan has just over 1K hours and is a decade old, I guess we change oil roughly every 100 hours.

Mine notifies me at 150 hrs as I remember.
