GPS cutoff switch in tow vehicle

I recently had my 2008 Honda CRV made towable with a Blu Ox tow bar kit. My question is how can I install a switch to remove power to my navigation system in the CRV when I am towing the vehicle. The sequence to make the car towable involves leaving the key in the #II position which allows power to the radio. This eventually will drain down the battery.
  • Check your owner manual - there's a fuse you can pull or switch. On my 2012 CRV, it's fuse #19 under the dash, labeled "Accessory Radio Fuse" in the manual. You can buy commercially available tow switch harnesses that let you switch the fuse in and out of the circuit for $50 and up. I built my own with about $15 in parts from Radio Shack and Autozone.

Here;s a link to the Blue Ox setup: on Amazon.
