I agree with the above quote. I was sitting in kind of a remote, rustic campsite with my two young daughters when two guys pulled up in a POS car and blocked the access road to my site. They just sat there and watched us for several minutes. There were plenty of empty sites, so there was no reason for it. I believe that the display of a firearm made them backup and leave.
To all the people that think you can leave when an unsafe situation occurs, that isn't possible when your access road is blocked. You better have another option, or you can be another statistic. I choose not to be!!!
My situation was very similar. Out in a remote CG in a NF when some obvious vagrant types blocked the exit road in front of their campsite as I was riding through. I waited a few minutes to let them move and it was obvious they did not intend to. When I laid both .38 specials on the dash they decided it would be a good idea to let me pass. Otherwise I have had no need to show them to anyone.
