Help Tiffin ceiling panels falling down

I have 2008 32LA Allegro Tiffin. The Ceiling panels are falling down. Contacted Tiffin service says it has to go back to the factory to be done right? Has anyone had this work done at a dealer on the west coast? History the coach went to Tiffin 4 years ago to replace roof caps water was leaking into coach Tiffin pick up the coach and returned it no charge from Nevada to Alabama. Service guy now says they use furniture glue to hold the panels in place and they must have not used enough and they would add more supports to glue panels. $6600 just to get it to Alabama plus charges to fix problems they made so anyone know of a dealer that has done this work I can trust?

No one is perfect, and this is an example of an exception to the rule of most Tiffin owner's experience at Red Bay.

There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

Here's some possible irony. Do you still live at the address that Bob Tiffin used in his letter of 4/6/10? If so, you're about five blocks from where I live off of Snowflake Dr.

Yes still live here. I think I have seen your rig parked next to your house nice. Mine is stored indoors over on Arrowhead Dr. Your more than welcome to take a look at it.

IMHO I don't think that website was the best way to go, but it does indicate there is much more to this situation than has been posted here.

Sorry for the confusion my wife has been talking with them. Yes it is Happay Daze in Sacramento. And Phil the Rep suggested Happy Daze. And Wade Tiffin service manager says has to come back to Red Bay if we want it done right. Tiffin is the last one to work on the roof. I will dig for the paper work on the repairs done last time and post later. Thanks

Okay I'm sorry but I continue to be confused. Phillip is the west coast rep. Wade (Humphres) is Tiffin's warranty manager and is also in charge of the service center in Red Bay. As far as I know, Phillip reports to Wade.

There is not a Lazy Days in Sacramento (they're in Tucson and Tampa). There is a Happy Daze in Sacramento so possibly that is who you are referring to.

Just what work needs to be done? And who do you feel was responsible for the failure? Rupert's or the service center in Red Bay?

In either case, if Tiffin authorized the original repairs under warranty, which have now somehow failed, they would be responsible for covering the necessary work to make it right. You should not have to pay anyone to drive your coach to and from Red Bay, and you definitely shouldn't have to pay for the repairs.

If you could provide more details as to the work that was done and exactly what you're current problems are, either I or someone else here might be able to offer some advice that might help you.

When you say 'roof caps' do you mean the radius portions of the roof, with the installation of aluminum roof rails?

Or are you saying the entire roof was replaced by a Tiffin repair center? I'm not saying it's impossible for a repair center to do a complete roof replacement, but I have been a member of the Tiffin forum for almost 8 years, and I never heard of that being done anywhere but at Red Bay.

Could you clarify just what work was done and who did it?

Yes this is a major problem, dealer support has been a disater a Tiffin repair center replaced the original roof and first rain we had water coming through the light fixtures.

I'm a little confused. You say a Tiffin repair center replaced the original roof, however in your first post you said the following:

Minor problems they can fix anything major my personal experience is they can't. I would know first 3 summers were lost having this thing repaired. And when Tiffin tells me directly the dealer can't fix this ceiling issue I believe them.

I have had what I would call major repairs done at two west coast Tiffin service centers, and they both did excellent work. This is why I earlier suggested that you call Phillip Hollingsworth. Maybe your particular repair does in fact have to be done at Red Bay, but if there is a facility on the west coast capable of doing it, Phillip would know.

If ceiling panels have foam insulation, and if they are glued to the roof frame members(trusses) during original assembly, they will droop down if roof has leaked rainwater.
The ceiling foam usually has shelf paper bonded to it, AND this paper is what is glued to the trusses. Whenever it gets wet, the paper looses it's bond to the foam. I have found that the ruined paper has to be removed in glue area, AND special/specific FOAM glue has to be used. The original type of adhesive will NOT work.

Sorry. I used the word roof, where I should've used ceiling. I corrected it, makes sense now.

Because this unit is OUT of warranty by 7 years. Tiffin can fix it cheaper than paying a dealer to do it. Besides, Tiffin owes this customer nothing after 7 years. So, if you need Goodwill, go to the factory where they have the parts available. Doug

Just for the record I purchased this MH new around 2010 so no it's not out of warrantee 7 years. And Tiffin says directly the dealer won't do it right it has to come back to factory. I don't know where you came up with this cost thing. And at no point did I say Tiffin owed me anything or expect it. I posted asking if anyone has had this issue fix outside the factory on the west coast. Seems your goal is to attack anyone with Tiffin problems.
