Help With Jeep Toad

Put the toad, 08 Jeep unlimited 3.6 V6, in the garage and left for five days. Returned, no start, new battery, panel cluster lights dim and bright and dim, "no fuse" appears where odometer displays, no engine crank. Every fuse and relay checked and good.

Any ideas?

Please do not ask if this has anything to do with RV's or camping. It does not, but the collective knowledge of this group can not be overlooked. Lots of you have jeeps.

Thanks for any help.

  • It's the IOD (Ignition Off Draw) fuse. When bad or not seated correctly it will give you a "No Fuse" error on the dash. This is the fuse that dealers pull so cars sitting on the lot don't drain the battery.
For more info Google "No Fuse Jeep Message". Tons of info.

The very first thing I would check is the ground wires from the battery to where it connects to the firewall or where ever on the new Jeeps.

On my 1999 an older model so there may be no connection but when I first got in to my Jeep on the dealers lot there was no odometer display and I do not remember if it said anything, anyway the service guy said that they still had not put in the fuse yet????? :h So this is a big stretch but it may have something to do with that whatever that is. As posted earlier the Jeep site guys will know.

  • Jump it... If it still doesn't crank, it's the starter motor or the starter motor ground cable.
  • Keep is simple... jump it... if it starts.... its a bad battery

Go there and ask. Good group of jeep guys. I would try to jump start it before you try too much though. Maybe low amps?
  • Batter reads 12.6 at the cables, not just at the posts. So the system is getting voltage.
  • Could be the new batt. needs to be charged. Could have been setting on shelf for a while.
