Hitch height on 2008 Monaco Knight

My RV is stored away from me. I am getting all the stuff to tow my Jeep Wrangler. (Blue Ox towbar, RVI brake, wiring kit, etc.) The Jeep is lifted 2.5 inches with an aftermarket bumper. I need to know the hitch height on the 2008 Monaco Knight so I can see if I need an adapter to raise the hitch height.

Does anyone know how high the center of the Monaco hitch is to the pavement? I can go to the coach over the weekend if ya'll don't know. Thanks in advance.
  • Just in case anybody is curious, the hitch height is 19.5 inches on the coach. The Jeep is 24.5 inches. I ordered the 6 inch riser. I can't wait to give it a whirl. The freedom of having a toad will be nice.
  • hmmm, we tow a TJ wrangler (stock suspension, 2" body lift, 33" tires) behind an 08 knight...
With a blue ox towbar, aftermarket bumper, and the cheap bolt to the bumper towbar adapters...

Afraid I do not know that number though. The jeep is about 2" higher than I would like it to be to line up the towbar.
But we've 15k miles towing it with zero issues.
  • don't forget if you have a 2inchdrop ballmount flip it over and its a 3inch rise

YUP....exactly right....if I remember from my Blue system the Ox company recommends within 1 or 1/2 inch of level when system hooked up

  • Thanks Boatcop. I was trying to check to see if I needed the riser or not. If I know how high the hitch receiver is then I can measure the Jeep bumper height in my garage and order the right riser if I need it.

No worries, I will go out this weekend and measure. Thanks.
  • The hitches rarely line up exactly with the tow-bar.

There are a myriad of drop or rise hitch inserts to ensure a level line-up with any towed vehicle.

There are even adjustable inserts, so one insert can work in any situation.
