He should be on I-10, not 15. I-10 never gets above 3500' look up the elevations of the cities they will go thru.

Obviously the 4.+% is quoted Caltrans warning sign and the % is not consistent on whole 30 miles grade.
Still the point is that with all those burned holes on the side of the road smart driver would scratch his head before going there with defective cooling system.

We've been across this route many times over the years, and do not recall any climbs that are 5% for 30 miles. plus this time of year the temp in El-Paso right now is now 43, and freezing at night.

Should be an easy do.

Do the math, 5% grade for 30 miles takes you up over 8000' and the route never gets that high across the three states.
