- RanduExplorerTPO is very smooth when clean almost glass like smooth. EPDM has a slight to moderate texture. TPO has like a vinyl surface bonded to the rubber. Randu
- RVhikerExplorerI was thinking that TPO had texture, but EPDM is smooth- but maybe I'm wrong. Here is how Dicor says to tell the difference: Dicor EPDM/TPO difference

- BumpyroadExplorercheck out the dicor web site, they have a video on how to tell.
bumpy - skipncharExplorerIt is easy to tell the difference with BOTH at hand to compare but individually, not so easy. EPDM is usually tighter when sliding an object across it while Vinyl does not drag as much when sliding the same object. If you can feel it easily dragging on your finger when you push it across it is likely Rubber.
- Backdraft161201ExplorerEPDM has a black side and a white side. TPO has 2 white sides.
Best way to tell is to remove the trim around the outside vent, from the inside. Remove a staple and look.
Hope this helps - clydedoerrExplorerWhy not call Four Winds and ask them I have a 2007 and it is TPO.
- randompandaExplorerI finally got a hold of Four Winds and they said if it's before 2001 then it's EPDM. I'm so glad it's not TPO. I won't have to get primer. Thank you so much for all the answers and help :)
