Summitt has 5 fewer of them now, not all mine, bought 3 off a friend's shopping list, and spent a TON on the Merc. I love the Canfield swap meet.
eyeteeth, what else about the oil pan gasket issue?
My buddy Bob (whose "home-built' 55 Chevys were so awesome they ended up on magazine covers) says to use TWO 2-ton jacks to lift the motor up.
Go easy, place stout wood (2x10s) on the motor mounts and you only need to move it a couple-three inches for access.
He also says have ALL your stuff (new gasket, sealer, extra screws, putty knives, short pry bar, tools) ready to go and do it one shot. Borrow or rent the jacks.
