FWIW... there was a similar setup in my 2000 Hurricane 30q, and the previous owner removed the tube TV and filled the hole with a plywood frame covered with a material to match the dash. It had a flat front to which he attached a 24 in flat screen TV. Keep in mind the new flat screens weigh next to nothing so you don't need a permanent mounted TV. Just a place to set it when you want to watch tv. So you could fill the hole and then just place a tv in the location once parked. It could ride on the couch or bed while in transit.
