I just bought a winter home in Florida. With the understanding that I would always LEAVE in my MH if a hurricane ever did hit.
Well last year I was in the direct line of where the hurricane was going to travel thru. Evacuation orders where in place. I was very shocked that I would ever have the feeling to 'stay with my home'. :R And stay I did.
I will NEVER EVER do that again. It was horrific and you feel very trapped in your house not knowing if you will live thru it.
Bottom line? When that roof goes flying off, you being inside will do NOTHING to save your home or belongings.
To the OP. Gather your valuables and sentimental items, load them in your MH and EVACUATE . And be thankful you will be in a vehicle that you can safely stay and live in when you get out of the path of the hurricane.
