It’s probably been years since I posted anything and I’m rarely on the forum. Today I had to post because of the fast service and great advice I got from HWH today.

I have been dealing with a rear slide out room that always worked in the past but usually took 5 minutes of messing with the rocker switch to get it to activate. I ordered a new switch last week but the slide was out today and I couldn’t get it to operate. I really needed to move the motorhome too.

This afternoon I put a call in to HWH and a technician called back about 15 minutes later. I explained the problem and from 2000 miles away Randy Fox (the technician) began to troubleshoot over the phone. To get the non working slide in he had me extend the working room and when it was extended, he told me to keep pushing the switch. This kept the pump running. Simultaneously he had me press the switch to retract the non working slide. Sure enough it worked.

He wasn’t able to fully diagnose the problem without a technician present but he got the slide in for me. And I can operate it this way until I have time to take it to the shop.

We once had a situation where the electrical contactor that powers the HWH pump was intermittent, and neither of our hydraulic slides would move. Since one of yours works, this probably doesn't apply.

Sounds like your pump is not starting when you try to operate the faulty slide. When you run the functioning slide all the way to the stop and keep the pump rumming by continuing to hold the switch, it keeps the system pressurized and then you operate the switch on the faulty slide to open the proper solenoid (s) to move the faulty slide. Must be a problem in the electrical circuit to start the pump with the faulty slide. I am 15 miles from HWH and they are great! Too bad they aren't as close to others for direct service. They do have nationwide service centers that should be able to help you find the exact cause.

No leak. It will be electrical or one of the solenoids not releasing.If you replaced the switch and the pump runs, I would look at the solenoid

You must have a hydraulic pump slide. It has leaked somewhere.
