hwh system

When I put on my park brake and put the motorhome in PARK, I sometimes can't get the hwh system to come on....no red light, no indicator of off-level side or corner. Then, I'm dead in the water, because my slide won't work either when the system is energized.

I have tride disconnected the wire to the system on the brake lever and sometimes that seems to work. Other timws, I have tried to activate the system by spraying electric cantact cleaner on the switches...Sometimes that works, sometimes that doesn't.

What am I missing.....?

Take the HWH control panel off and clean the contacts that connect it to the controller.

You can also try wiggling or tapping the panel.

I will add that the factory Fleetwood) used one of those blue taps to connect the HWH conductor to the GM wiring harness. I re-did this connection and connected to the switch.

OP started new thread! He reports it is a P-30
Look under the dash near the foot operated parking brake. Look to see how they connected the wire to the switch.
Look to see if the switch is operating.
You may need to adjust switch. Mine as a small sheet metal nut that stripped out. I was able to flatten it so it would tighten up.

What chassis?
Which HWH system?
If the transmission selector switch is not indicating it is park or manual parking brake switch is no operating properly will cause this problem.

IF you have a FORD chassis, see if the FORD park Brake light is ON on the dash cluster. Ford Emergency Brake switches are notorious for malfunctioning on older chassis. The HWH system NEEDS to see the GROUND signal from the Brake switch. Doug

Does it act the way you describe 1- With engine on and off?
2- In Park and neutral?
Also, if foot operated, try a little harder to get that last clic in.

If any of the above works you should have an idea of the problem.
