I use this silver reflective bubble stuff on my windows to keep the sun out in the summer and the cold out in the winter.I have to replace the front carpet. Can I use this bubble stuff under my carpet to keep the heat out from the engine.

On a friend's "C", a custom Dynamat on the floorboards and doghouse made a large difference, especially if one had bare feet.

Reflectix is useful almost anywhere that it doesn't get so hot that the plastic melts. I use it for the windows on my current rig. I've been thinking that it will be useful both as a layer on top of a windshield as well as a layer inside.

I used the Reflectix on the dog house on my old class C. It kept the floor around the g
Dog house cool enough my foot wasn't burning up.

I also have it on the front bedrooms windows on the fifth wheel to keep it cooler during the triple digit temps here in Kansas in the summer.

Dynamat is another kind of product- what Dynamat does is convert sound vibration movements into heat by friction within the material- It is not a closed-cell type material as you might want for thermal insulation.
and it's expensive.

a reflective foil barrier may help ( think space blankets)- and for the cost, I think that this would be a good experiment. especially if the padding or carpet protects the cells from breaking down.

The product they use on fire walls in vehicles is called Dynamat or HushMat, both are an EPDM like rubber with a foil face. It will offer some insulative value as well as sound dampening.

You could always try it under the carpet, take it out if it does not work.

Since you can pop the bubbles by squeezing them probably would not last too long.
