Manabloc valves can also become mineral-coated so that they will not operate. Have seen that on several RV's and boats with the system.

When it works, it is a great idea-- one can shutoff single fixtures, leaving the rest of the system operational.

We had a manabloc system in a Monaco Windsor years ago. It worked okay. The only disadvantage I saw to it is that because of bringing all the water lines to a central position, the lines to any given fixture are longer than when the standard system is used. This meant that we had to run the water a lot longer if we wanted hot water. Since we normally run off the water in our tank, this was a monor disadvantage to us. Other than that, the system worked fine.

The reason I asked is the coach I just bought says it has the Manobloc system. I tried to Google it but I didn't find the information up above.

My coach has the manobloc system. If you have a water leak on a water line hot or cold you can shut it off right at the manifold. Never have used it, but it is there.

The manabloc system was used on high end coaches to isolate various plumbing segments in the coach. If you broke a water line in the bathroom, you could turn off that line without losing use of the rest of the coach. I'm sure it also aided in winterizing. I haven't seen them in new coaches for a long time, maybe a Newell or Prevost level will still have them.

Our Georgetown motorhome has this system. They only installed it one year I believe.

Don't know about the ones for motor homes but the versions for homes work really well. My son-in-law just overhauled the plumbing in their older home, and replaced it with a manifold system plus PEX. Each fixture can be shut off separately and the pressure is very uniform. No more scalding showers when someone flushes.

Yes, each of those zones can be turned off at the red or blue twist valve. There is a plastic key/wrench that fits over the tip of the valve stem. The pin on the key is snapped into a holding spot on the manifold so it's right there when needed.
