- valhalla360NavigatorWhere are you at? RV'ing is hugely popular in Europe.
We rented a small unit a couple years ago in Germany and every little town had a camper stop for visiting. We got over 30mpg on the trip.
We also saw lots of RV's around in France on a seperate trip last year.
The small diesel units often get 25-30mpg, so fuel costs aren't nearly as bad especially with the short distances involved. - John_JoeyExplorerDo they also have free Health Care to their citizens there?

Granted, I'm currently in France. It's no wonder RVing isn't as popular here as it is in the United States.
57.32 Euros for 43.46 Liters. Doesn't sound as bad if you think of it in liters. - Pass42ExplorerAs a tour guide in Costa Rica told me... we have universal health care, but NO WELFARE. because no country can afford both..........

Depends on the country. Most Places in Europe consider healthcare a right not a privilege. Some are single payer like Canada, some are government and some are a combo. Spain is an example of a combined system. We just spent 9 weeks in Europe and made a point of talking to locals about the different systems and how they are evolving. Very interesting. - Mr_Mark1Explorer

I thought diesel would be higher. Before this thread gets too far off track, tell us about where you, where you are going and what type of RV have you rented.
Sounds like a lot of fun!
Have a safe trip!
MM. - obgrahamExplorerHeavens, I saw all sorts of RV's in Switzerland this past May. Despite the horrendous fuel costs and road taxes.
Those bakeries made it all worthwhile! - John___AngelaExplorerIf you make it down to Spain and are looking for a beach camping spot head for Tarifa. Lots of wind surfers there. From there you can put the rig on the fast ferry to Morroco or just leave it in the campground and stay in a hotel. It was an amazing cultural experience for us and the first time we were in a Muslim country. Excellent trip. Happy trails. Keep us posted on your trip.
- pigman1ExplorerYukon government is reporting $1.689C/liter for Dawson. With conversion that's about $5.87US/gal. $4.65 in Tok and Seward, AK, and $4.45 in San Francisco. We're running hard to catch up.
