Granted, I'm currently in France. It's no wonder RVing isn't as popular here as it is in the United States. 57.32 Euros for 43.46 Liters. Doesn't sound as bad if you think of it in liters.

Most RVs over there are the 'Sprinter' type so they're a little more efficient than a huge Class A. Last time I was in the UK, many of the roads and towns wouldn't be able to accommodate a Class A but I saw many sprinters. Additionally, outside of sporting and social events, if you drive a RV you are considered a 'gypsy' and looked down upon.
