Thanks, I was going to post mine as I thought I got a good deal until I read the quoted post. Next time up, think I better do more checking as I have basically the same items to be covered.

The way I see it, your relationship with the insurance company, once you have a claim, is basically an adversarial one. I had a terrible experience with Bridgestone tires that left me with a torn up truck and 4 new but faulty tires that I had no confidence in. Bridgestone blamed road hazard and wouldn't help. Costco, where I bought the tires, rode to my rescue and put me into brand new Michelins and repaired my truck, all at no charge for the tires or the body work. I buy all my insurance from Costco, including motorhome. Besides getting a great price on insurance I have an advocate when things get ugly. My advocate (Costco) can see that I have been shopping there big time for 25 years. I am important to Costco. Once you have a claim, you are merely a nuisance for your insurance company. On top of that the insurance company cannot raise rates without Costco's assent. By the way, the lying Bridgestone later recalled all the tires that had blown up on my truck. Progressive is a big time Obama supporter, which is likely the rationale for the name.

- $500 on collision, $0 on comprehensive

- We carry a separate $1-million umbrella liability policy but our MH policy is 100,000/300,000/50,000

- Shop around and compare apples to apples. if you fulltime be sure to inform the carrier about that.

I would first start with your auto provider for coverage cause you may
get the group or bundled discount. I get the same limits as I have
and am comfortable with my auto insurance.

Sometimes your current insurance company is ok, other times it's not. Only you can determine what coverage you wish to carry. What we have will have no bearing on what you can get or the coverage that's right for you. Also, many insurance companies will not write full timer insurance so your choices are limited if you're full timing.

1. Is your coach financed? If so, your coverages will be limited by what your finance company states is it's minimum.
2. What's your driving record look like? Tickets? How many and for what? Accidents? Fault, no fault and nolo contendere?
3. What can you afford to shell out if you're involved in an accident? $1000,??$500,?? $100??? This will determine your deductible.
4. What is your net worth?? This will determine how much liability coverage you should carry.

Answer these questions and we'll be able to give you a better answer to your questions above.....Dennis

What's wrong with your present insurance company??? Companies that rate good in one state might rate bad in another. I chose the best for me by using http://www.jdpower.com/consumer-ratings/insurance/index.htm. You want to make sure insurers you are considering are licensed in Vermont. Rates are very much determined by what state you live in and may have to be approved by Vermont Department of Financial Regulation.

State Farm - make sure that you have a conversation with your agent about the trailer. There was a $15.00 rider charge to add our truck camper.
When I wrecked the camper, they comped it out and cashed me out at my request.
No problems.

So far, I've been happy with Progressive, but then again I have never filed any sort of claim. Their rates are competitive. I did some consumer reviewing about Progressive and liked what I read, so I should be pretty happy with them.

I was unable to bundle my car and homeowners insurance with the trailer because my ins. company doesn't offer TT insurance in California.
